Well.... I've been out for a while.  I guess you can call this my holiday break... Very early and very long. No joke, though, I'm off to Florida for a nice little vacation but I've been reading up a storm... It's the putting the fingers to keyboard part that is challenging. I'll soon, very soon, be putting reviews - many reviews - back up, no fear!

PS. I'm changing the website name.
PSS. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

OMG, HOTT Covers!

10/21/2012

Let's start with Black Knights, Inc. . I absolutely love the series thus far (Hell on Wheels, In Rides Trouble, Rev it Up). The chemistry between Vanessa and Rock nearly burnt me clear up and, *drumroll*, the cover for Thrill Ride has been revealed! HAWT!
HE’S GONE ROGUE

Ex-Navy SEAL Rock Babineaux’s job is to get information,
and he’s one of the best in the business. Until something goes
horribly wrong and he’s being hunted by his own government. Even
his best friends at the covert special-ops organization Black Knights Inc.
aren’t sure they can trust him. He thinks he can outrun them all,
but his former partner—a curvy bombshell who knows
just how to drive him wild—refuses cut him loose.

SHE WON’T BACK DOWN

Vanessa Cordova hasn’t been the team’s communication specialist
very long, but she knows how to read people—no way is Rock guilty of murder.
And she’ll go to hell and back to help him prove it. Sure, the sexy Cajun
has his secrets, but there’s no one in the world she’d rather have by her side
in a tight spot. Which is good, because they’re about to get very tight…
     Then there's The Mongtomerys and Armstrongs series (Never Seduce a Scot). And talk about sex-ayyy;
Genevieve McInnes is locked behind the fortified walls of McHugh Keep, captive of a cruel laird who takes great pleasure in ruining her for any other man. Yet when Bowen Montgomery storms the gates on a mission of clan warfare, Genevieve finds that her spirit is bent but not broken. Still, her path toward freedom remains uncertain. Unable to bear the shame of returning to a family that believes her dead or to abandon others at the keep to an imposing new laird, Genevieve opts for the peaceful life of an abbess. But Bowen’s rugged sensuality stirs something deep inside her that longs to be awakened by his patient, gentle caress—something warm, wicked, and tempting.

Bowen seizes his enemy’s keep, unprepared for the brooding and reclusive woman who captures his heart. He’s enchanted by her fierce determination, her unusual beauty, and her quiet, unfailing strength. But wooing her will take more than a seasoned seducer’s skill. For loving Genevieve, he discovers, means giving her back the freedom that was stolen from her—even if it means losing her forever.
I don't know which excites me more!

I'm doing a slow overhaul of my website; reviewing old reviews and adding extra information and excerpts. Yes, I know. I can hear the "It's about time!" s that are being shouted. Dayum, though. Typos, typos, typos major! I mean, I was face-palming like crazy just skimming (Inner me; "Were you sleeping??!!!!", Outer Me: "Pshhh, no one noticed!" *wince*).
I'm also going to be adding new sections. I've already started on Sort by... (Author, Publisher, Series), but that's moving veerrrryyy slowly. I also want to add an 'Anticipated Books' page, but I've not yet thought of any structure for that since I anticipate all types of books with varying amounts by category
On the opposite side of the track, I've been swamped with review requests. I mean, I love getting them and so many of these books sound *amazing*, but my eyes widen slightly every time I look at my 'review' list.... Every. Time. I'm going to eliminate a bunch before I accept any more, though; that's a promise (lies; I'm going to be looking through galleys tomorrow).
Right now I'm focusing on Indie titles but, gosh, I'm going to have to speed up my reading by, like, a bazillion. I'm probably going to attach a comprehensive 'upcoming reviews' section as well, just for cathartic venting... We'll see :). Happy reading.

Ok, so I just got a review copy of Run the Risk - I'm super enjoying it so far, so no disappointments. On the other hand, I'm still waiting on Jessica Clare's (Jill Myles's) The Care and Feeding of an Alpha Male which I'm almost totally sure is going to be even steamier. What can match it in the steamy category, I'm sure, is Jaci Burton's Playing to Win.
Jaci Burton now has two excerpts of Playing to Win up which is enough to prime anyone. Jaci Burton is also having a little giveaway over on her website, just comment! Susan Mallery, Kristan Higgins and Kate Carlisle are also hosting a giveaway right over here - winner gets a copy of Susan Mallery's All Summer Long, Kristian Higgins's Somebody to Love (or another) and Kate Carlisle's Peril in Papreback. Easy, huh? And both contests are open to persons internationally, so double the fun! Anywho, Shannon Stacey had the cover for All He Ever Needed (Mitch Kowalski's book) revealed today (July 10th) here. I love how Paige looks so gypsy-ish. Happy reading!

Patience...

5/10/2011

Oh, goody. I've been overflowing with books I want to read lately, but I'll always be loyal to my favorite authors, of course.
Susan Mallery, which is clearly an author I enjoy reading, is right up there. I can't wait to read All Summer Long that's coming out soon... I'm hoping I can get review an arc, which, of course, beats waiting until July (UPDATE: got it). I love her Fool's Gold series, of course, so, having read all the books thus far, I'm also suspecting that there are books lined up for Ford (Hendrix brother), Evie (Stryker sister) and Kent (Another Hendrix brother).... Anyway, I'm not so sure how I feel about reading Kent after watching him moon over his ex-wife book after book, now. Check out the entertaining Fool's Gold website.

I haven't read Shannon Stacey intensely, yet, but she totally caught me with Yours to Keep (love the book). Because of that, I'm waiting for the next Kowalski; Mitch. It's painful waiting there, though, because Mitch's story isn't coming out until way into the year. Fortunately, I'll soon be able to sate myself with Slow Summer Kisses (UPDATE: Got hold of an arc; my review is here).

Lori Foster has, of course, given her readers a tantalizing glimpse of her next book Run the Risk (sexy cover, too), which is part of a series she is now working on and is coming out in September.
Picture
I'm totally, totally, looking forward to the second installment in Jessica Clare's (AKA Jill Myles/ Jessica Sims) Bluebonnet series, The Care and Feeding of an Alpha Male, especially with such an awesome cover (not that I expected any less after The Girl's Guide to (Man) Hunting).
I'm also anticipating Erin McCarthy's Jacked Up of the Fast Track series which is coming out quite soon... Can't wait!

Don't even ask my what the legendary Anne Stuart is doing next because, heaven knows, I've no clue but, lemmie say, I'm eager.
