Lucky Harbor #6
Forever and a Day by Jill Shalvis
Not that I didn't have high expectations for a Jill Shalvis book.... But Forever and a Day was a very, very pleasant surprise. I had read the other two books in this trilogy (Lucky in Love and At Last) of the Lucky Harbor series and had liked Grace, but she packed a wallop in this one - I hadn't thought of her as that forward, feisty or fun (my three 'f's, yes, I just made that up). I almost feel as if the other books hadn't done her any justice. As for Josh, he was strong and heroic and just, gosh.... manly - there was something raw about him that I liked, though he was a pretty clean-cut man. Even better, Josh had the most adorable son (who played an integral role), a wild little sister and a crazy pug. All of them, mixed up, made for loads of funny reading (and I do mean laugh-out-loud funny) and a side of sizzling chemistry
I loved the bones of the story and loved, loved, loved that he had to depend on her, even though he didn't recognize it. It was super cute watching Grace manage the household and step into the role of mother/wife. This has been my favorite book from Jill Shalvis so far (admittedly, I haven't read many) and I didn't want it to end - especially with Lucille and that Facebook page there at every corner. The one thing I didn't like about it was that it was very similar to Lucky in Love with Grace's 'Oh, I'm moving on' mantra and then jobs magically falling into her lap. That didn't take away from the book, though. Really loved it.
