The Harder They Fall by Trish Jensen

Picture
The Harder They Fall was definitely one of the more light-hearted romances I've read recently. I mean, this novel was most certainly one of the more memorable romances I've read with it's very immodest use of humour.

I loved Michael, maybe more than I loved the heroine, Darcy. The Harder They Fall was very enthralling and I enjoyed, immensely, watching the relationship morph and the characters grow as Michael helped Darcy find her confidence, despite initial misgivings in the relationship. Speaking of their relationship, the chemistry was great! The hero and heroine were perfectly matched and it was super-cute how Michael took care of her;looking out for her clumsiness and gentling his attitude towards her. What I didn't like, though, was that climax. I mean; it was understandable and still enjoyable but sort of redundant seeing as she'd overheard a conversation between Michael and his sister that should have alerted her to his feelings - new and old - towards her.

I had a blast reading this book (finished it in a few hours) and would love to pick up another of Jensen's.

"Darcy Welham vows to learn the family business from top to bottom and to rid it of interlopers. Her fiery spirit, quick mind and slight klutziness scares off most men--except the one she wants to intimidate! Michael Davidson has no business interfering in her life, her job or her heart. But he will not be turned away."
